Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The participant must be an undergraduate or graduate student at Islamic Azad University, Zahedan Branch. The participant must have social anxiety disorder based on DSM-5 criteria and score accordingly on the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS). The participant must be willing to attend cognitive behavioral therapy sessions. The participant must have signed an informed consent form to participate in the study. The participant must be able to attend all therapy sessions throughout the intervention period.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of severe psychiatric disorders requiring specialized treatment outside the study protocol. Inability to understand Persian or complete the study questionnaires. Lack of access to the internet or necessary devices for participating in online sessions (if applicable). Age below 18 years. Presence of chronic or disabling physical illnesses that prevent attendance at therapy sessions.

Social Anxiety Score Based on the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS):This variable is measured using the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale. The total score, derived from the sum of all items, is assessed at three time points (pre-test, post-test, and one-month follow-up) and analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in reducing social anxiety. Timepoint: Primary outcome variables will be measured at three time points: (1) before the start of the intervention (pre-test); (2) immediately after the final therapy session (post-test); and (3) one month after the completion of the intervention (follow-up). Method of measurement: Social anxiety is measured using the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS), which consists of 24 items assessing the level of anxiety and avoidance in various social situations.;Sleep Quality Based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI):This variable is measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The total score is collected at three time points and analyzed to assess the impact of the intervention on improving sleep quality. Timepoint: Primary outcome variables will be measured at three time points: (1) before the start of the intervention (pre-test); (2) immediately after the final therapy session (post-test); and (3) one month after the completion of the intervention (follow-up). Method of measurement: Sleep quality is measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), which consists of 19 items assessing seven components related to sleep.;Academic Performance Based on the Fahim and Taylor Questionnaire:This variable is measured using the Fahim and Taylor Academic Performance Questionnaire.
