Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1- Between 20 to 65 years old 2- Confirmed diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus by an endocrinologist 3- At least six months have passed since the diagnosis by the physician 4- Willingness and written consent to participate in the study 5- Ability to read and write 10- Ability to establish direct phone contact with the patient and an active family member

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1- Cognitive impairment, physical disability, or psychiatric disorder 2- Chronic diabetes complications such as diabetic foot ulcer, kidney failure, or blindness, as determined by the endocrinologist 3-Absence of psychological disorders, including anxiety or depression, based on self-report and medical record review 4- Participation in other educational programs: Except for the routine diabetes education provided by the clinic

MeasureTime frame
Psychological Distress :A score obtained from the Kessler questionnaire lower than 13 means mild distress. Timepoint: Before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and three months after the intervention. Method of measurement: Kessler questionnaire.;Treatment adherence: The score obtained from the Modanloo Chronic Diseases Treatment Regime Adherence Questionnaire. Timepoint: Before the intervention, immediately after the intervention, and three months after the intervention. Method of measurement: Questionnaire on adherence to treatment regimen for chronic diseases in Modanloo.
