Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: adolescent boys aged 15 to 18 years with and a thoracic C-shaped adolescent idiopathic scoliosis Cobb angle between 10 and 25 degrees (mild to moderate severity) Right-handed

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any history of spinal surgery History of underlying medical conditions leading to scoliosis or other spinal deformities Use of spinal braces Presence of neurological or orthopedic disorders Diagnosis of fixed structural scoliosis with visible deformity during the Adams forward bend test Limb length discrepancy (shortening of either lower limb)

MeasureTime frame
Surface electromyography (of the erector spinae muscles at three levels and the external oblique muscle). Timepoint: Measurements will be conducted at the beginning of the study, after the 12-week intervention protocol, and following a 12-week follow-up period. Method of measurement: surface electromyography is used to assess bilateral activity of the erector spinae muscles in three areas of the spine and the external oblique muscle on both sides (based on SENIAM).

Cobb angle. Timepoint: Measurements will be conducted at the beginning of the study, after the 12-week intervention protocol, and following a 12-week follow-up period. Method of measurement: In this study, the Cobb angle is measured once at baseline using a standing posteroanterior radiograph to confirm diagnosis and determine skeletal maturity. All longitudinal assessments (T0, T1, T2) rely on standardized photogrammetry. Digital standing photographs are taken with a fixed camera setup, and reflective markers are placed over key anatomical landmarks including spinous processes from C7 to L3 and major shoulder and pelvic points. Images are imported into CorelDRAW, where a validated angle-construction method is used to approximate the Cobb angle by drawing tangential lines to the upper and lower end-vertebrae. Calibration is performed using a vertical reference rod of known length, and all measurements are conducted by a blinded assessor.;Thoracic motor performance. Timepoint: Measurements will be conducted at the beginning of the study, after the 12-week intervention protocol, and following a 12-week follow-up period. Method of measurement: Thoracic motor performance is evaluated using several indicators: apical chest expansion, assessed through the qualitative Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) test, in which the examiner places their hands on the patient’s thorax and evaluates the relative pressure and movement on both sides during deep inhalation; trunk range of motion and shoulder joint range of motion, both of which are measured using a goniometer.;Quality of life. Timepoint: Measurements will be conducted at the beginning of the study, after the 12-week intervention protocol, and following a 12-week follow-up period.
