Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Serum ferritin. Timepoint: Patients’ ferritin, and hematocrit levels will be measured before the intervention. After 12 weeks of melatonin supplementation, ferritin, levels will be reassessed. Method of measurement: Using standard measurement kits.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Hemoglobin. Timepoint: At baseline (before the intervention) and after 12 weeks. Method of measurement: According to the standard dialysis protocols in Iran, a routine blood sample is taken from all dialysis patients every three months, and the hemoglobin level is measured using standard specific kits by the laboratory of Imam Hospital.;Albomin. Timepoint: At baseline (before the intervention) and after 12 weeks. Method of measurement: According to the standard dialysis protocols in Iran, a routine blood sample is taken from all dialysis patients every three months, and the serum albumin level is measured using standard specific kits by the laboratory of Imam Hospital.
