Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: A history of at least one ankle sprain, with the initial sprain occurring more than one year prior to the study; self-reported functional deficits at the time of the study, as determined by the Tampa Self-Report Scale with a score below 20 indicating ankle instability, and a sensation of ‘giving way’ of the ankle (at least twice in the past six months.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Participants were excluded if they had sustained a lower limb injury, including an ankle sprain, within the 6 weeks prior to the study, had a history of lower limb surgery in the ankle region, or had disorders affecting balance. They were also excluded if they missed more than three sessions of the study.
