Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD) according to DSM-5 by a psychiatrist or psychologist, with a duration of at least two weeks from the onset of symptoms and sufficient severity to warrant hospitalization. These individuals usually have a history of psychological problems and have reached a stage that requires hospitalization. Hospitalization in a psychiatric ward due to the severity of depressive symptoms (e.g., suicidal risk, inability to function in daily life, failure to respond to outpatient treatment) Absence of psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations or delusions Age between 18 and 60 years. No participation in similar self-care programs in the past three months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Having other psychiatric disorders along with major depression that may affect the results of the study (such as bipolar disorder). Having adjustment disorder with depressed mood (reactive depression caused by environmental factors such as the death of a loved one) without meeting criteria for major depression. Leaving the study by the participant at any stage. Exacerbation of the clinical condition that makes it impossible to continue participating in the program. Failure to complete the educational program sessions. Having chronic physical illnesses that may affect the results of the study.
