Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1- Having an active record in the SIB system or receiving prenatal care from a midwife/obstetrician. 2- Married women aged 18–49 years. 3- Minimum literacy (ability to read and write). 4-Iranian citizenship. 5- Residency in Hamadan city. 6- Primiparity (first childbirth experience). 7- Being a monogamous and first wife 8- delivery (gestational age 37–41 weeks, confirmed by first-trimester ultrasound).Singleton pregnancy. 9- Having a singleton pregnancy 10- SPBQ score >8 ( Stein Postpartum Blues Questionnaire) on the first postpartum day. 11- EPDS score <13 (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) on the first postpartum day. 12- DASS-21 subscale scores:Anxiety (0–14)Stress (0–25)(Less than "severe" severity) on the first postpartum day. 13-Planned pregnancy. 14- Newborn birth weight =2500 g. 15- Healthy infant (no congenital disorders or major medical conditions). 16- Having a home phone or a cell phone
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1- Prolonged/difficult labor (>20 hours in first/second stage, instrumental delivery, etc.) per medical records. 2- Exposure to traumatic/stressful events in the past 3 months (severe illness/death of first-degree relatives, accidents, job loss, etc.). 3-Maternal chronic medical conditions (hypertension, diabetes, epilepsy, renal/cardiac/pulmonary/gastrointestinal diseases, coagulopathies, etc.) per self-report/medical records. 4- Maternal history/current diagnosis of psychiatric disorders (bipolar disorder, depression, delirium, schizophrenia, PTSD, etc.) per self-report/medical records. 5- Family history of psychiatric disorders. 6-Physical/mental disability or chronic illness in spouse/children. 7-Maternal alcohol/drug abuse. 8-High-risk pregnancy (gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, eclampsia, bleeding/spotting during pregnancy, etc.) per self-report/medical records. 9-History of infertility. 10- Postpartum complications (hypertension, abnormal bleeding, breast complications, etc.) per self-report/medical records. 11- Allergy to fennel or Edible paraffin oil. 12-Non-compliance with capsule intake for =3 consecutive days. 13- Hospitalization of mother/neonate for any reason during the study. 14- Neonatal death. 15- Family conflicts during the study (impending divorce, domestic disputes, unemployment, spouse's addiction, etc.). 16- Diagnosed congenital anomalies/neonatal diseases during the study. 17- Use of relaxation techniques (yoga, massage, music therapy, acupuncture, homeopathy, reflexology) or pharmacological/herbal treatments (fennel, lavender, chamomile, rose, lemon balm, orange blossom, rosemary, thyme, etc.) for postpartum distress during the study. 18- Questionnaires with >10% unanswered items. 19- Allergy to carrots or celery.
