MeasureTime frame
In a pre-designed checklist, demographic information as well as age, duration of keloid and previous treatments will be recorded. In addition to observing and palpating the scars, we will ask patients whether their scars are itchy or painful based on the Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS). The VSS is widely used in clinical practice and research to assess changes in scar appearance, which is a valid scale to assess the effectiveness of treatment based on scar grading before and after treatment. VSS scoring will be performed before and after treatment by an experienced dermatologist. Also, using systematic reviews of previous scientific articles, relevant epidemiological studies and relevant online publications, we will investigate the effect of CO2 laser in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars with a metalloproteinase-stimulating mechanism. Timepoint: VSS will be used to assess scars before and 5 months after the intervention. In addition, patients will be asked to indicate their satisfaction with the treatment by selecting one of the following options: no significant change, good improvement, very good improvement, or excellent improvement. Method of measurement: VSS will be widely used in clinical practice and research to assess changes in scar appearance, which is a valid scale to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment based on scar grading before and after treatment. VSS scoring will be performed before and after treatment by an experienced dermatologist. Also, using systematic reviews of previous scientific articles, relevant epidemiological studies and relevant online publications, it will be used to investigate the effect of CO2 laser in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars with metalloproteinase stimulation mechanism.
