Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Having bilateral vertical impaction of the maxillary third molars Presence of a surgical indication for extraction of the teeth on both sides

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with systemic diseases including hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurological disorders, and renal and hepatic failure Taking specific medications long-term, such as NSAIDs, corticosteroids, analgesics, and antibiotics History of head trauma Having a history of undergoing facial surgeries, including both therapeutic and cosmetic procedures.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Pain intensity. Timepoint: Prior to surgery, on the third postoperative day, and on the fifth postoperative day. Method of measurement: Visual Analogue Scale.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Swelling severity. Timepoint: Prior to surgery, on the third postoperative day, and on the fifth postoperative day. Method of measurement: Tailor's measuring tape.
