Inclusion criteria: Dental students admitted in the year 1401 (2022–2023)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Having any prior experience in performing local anesthesia injections

Preparedness score: Score from a 6-item preparedness questionnaire (Likert scale 6–30),. Timepoint: completed before practice. Method of measurement: Questionnaire adapted from Wong et al.;Skill scoreDefinition: Score from a 7-domain skill checklist (maximum score: 14), completed by a supervisor during the first injection. Timepoint: During injection. Method of measurement: Checklist adapted from Knipfer et al.;Confidence scoreDefinition: Score from a 5-item self-assessment (range: 5 to 25), completed by the student after injection. Timepoint: After injection. Method of measurement: Questionnaire adapted from Brand et al.;Anxiety score Definition: Score from a 7-item ISAR-based anxiety questionnaire (range: 1 to 7), completed before injection. Timepoint: Before injection. Method of measurement: ISAR questionnaire.;Injection successDefinition: Qualitative evaluation of injection success 20 minutes after the procedure, based on sharp/blunt test and reported numbness of lips and tongue.
