Intervention 1: Intervention group: Schema-based couple therapy: The schema-based couple therapy protocol (Simeone et al., 2017) will be implemented in 14 90-minute sessions for the experimental group

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: At least 4 years of cohabitation have passed. Willingness to cooperate and participate fully in couples therapy sessions. Be literate in reading and writing.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Having mental disorders and taking psychiatric medications Having physical problems that interfere with the intervention process

Marital Disillusionment Disillusionment means that neutral emotions replace positive ones. In a disillusioned marriage, negative emotions such as hurt and anger increase until they lead to a state of coldness. Timepoint: It takes two months before and after the study begins. Method of measurement: In this study, marital frustration refers to the score that the subject obtains from the Kaiser (2012) Marital Frustration Questionnaire.;Relationship turmoil: Marital turmoil can be defined as the collapse of the pillars of marital communication and the emergence of a disorder in their communication structure, which is affected by a variety of repressed and unresolved feelings and emotions towards the spouse. Timepoint: It takes two months before and after the study begins. Method of measurement: In this study, relationship turmoil refers to the score that the subject obtains from the Schneider (1997) Marital Turbulence Questionnaire.;Marital intimacy refers to the feeling of closeness, trust, respect, and deep emotional connection between spouses. This concept reflects the positive and enduring connection that exists between husband and wife in a marital relationship. Marital intimacy involves sharing feelings, experiences, hopes, and desires between spouses and creating a deep and meaningful connection to maintain and strengthen the marital relationship. Timepoint: It takes two months before and after the study begins. Method of measurement: Marital intimacy in this study refers to the score that the subject obtains from the Couple Intimacy Questionnaire, Bagarozi (2001).
