The tooth should be restorable and there should be no deep dentinal caries near the pulp or iatrogenic pulp exposure Diagnosis of irreversible pulpitis for the tooth and blood in the pulp chamber should be bright red during collection and bleeding should stop within 5-10 minutes after application of cotton soaked in sodium hypochlorite. Radiographic criteria: No evidence of internal or external inflammatory resorption of the roots. No evidence of interradicular bone resorption or radiolucency in the root furcation. No evidence of sinus tract

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Necrotic teeth Teeth with closed apex Primary teeth

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Clinical success. Timepoint: 3, 6 and 9 months after Vital Pulp Therapy. Method of measurement: Clinical success will be determined by the absence of pain, tenderness, inflammatory swelling, mobility, and the presence of a fistula or sinus.;Radiographic success. Timepoint: 3, 6 and 9 months after Vital Pulp Therapy. Method of measurement: Radiographic success will be determined by the absence of radiolucency in the apical or furcal region, internal or external pathologic root resorption, widening of the periodontal ligament space, and root canal calcification.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Patient satisfaction. Timepoint: 9 months after Vital Pulp Therapy. Method of measurement: Based on visual analog scale (VAS).
