Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Being a woman If the spouse has a substance use disorder, the spouse's diagnosis of addiction must be confirmed through medical records, records from addiction treatment centers, or confirmation from a relevant specialist. The female participant must be between 25 and 50 years old. The woman must be currently married and in an active marital relationship with her addicted spouse (no long-term legal or physical separation).

Exclusion criteria: Active participation in other psychological or psychiatric treatments in the last 6 months Unwillingness or inability to participate in therapy sessions and complete the questionnaire Having a history of severe psychiatric illnesses in women

MeasureTime frame
Marital quality. Timepoint: Baseline (before the intervention began), post-intervention (at the end of the tenth week), and three-month follow-up period (three months after the intervention ended). Method of measurement: The Marital Quality Questionnaire was developed by Busby et al. (1995) and is used to measure the quality of marital relationships. This 14-item questionnaire is scored on a 1-point Likert scale from strongly agree (5) to strongly disagree (0) and consists of 3 subscales of consensus (questions 1 to 6), satisfaction (questions 7 to 10), and cohesion (questions 11 to 14), which together indicate the marital quality score, with higher scores indicating higher marital quality.;Emotional abuse. Timepoint: Baseline (before the intervention began), post-intervention (at the end of the tenth week), and three-month follow-up period (three months after the intervention ended). Method of measurement: Emotional abuse is measured using the Emotional Abuse Questionnaire. This questionnaire was developed by Ebrahimi (2008). The aim of this scale is to measure the level of emotional abuse in couples. This questionnaire measures 4 subscales of emotional abuse, which are: verbal abuse-criticism, neglect-withdrawal, dominance and social-restriction. This scale has 80 questions and is scored on a five-point scale from one to five as follows:.;Marital frustration. Timepoint: Baseline (before the intervention began), post-intervention (at the end of the tenth week), and three-month follow-up period (three months after the intervention ended). Method of measurement: Marital frustration is measured using the Marital Frustration Scale. This questionnaire was developed by Pines (1996) and has 21 questions that include three main components: physical exhaustion (e.g., feeling tired, sluggish, and having sleep disorders), emotional exhaustion (feeling depressed, hopeless, trapped), and psychological exhaustion (e.g., feeling worthless, frustrated, and angry at one's spouse).
