Conditions

Post–coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Presence of aortocoronary bypass graft

Interventions

aerobic exercise (20-30 minutes) such as treadmill, stationary bike, or rowing machine at moderate intensity (50-70% of maximum heart rate)
resistance training (15-20 minutes) such as light weights focusing on major muscle groups (2-3 sets of 8-12 repetitions, 2 times a week)
Intervention 1: Center-based cardiac rehabilitation group: All steps in this method will be performed under the supervision of a cardiologist, nutritionist, physical medicine and rehabilitation specia
cool-down (5-10 minutes) including a gradual decrease in intensity followed by stretching (e.g., neck and shoulder stretches, calf muscle stretches, balance on one leg). 2- Patient education Topics co

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Consent: Participants must provide informed consent to take part in the study Age: Participants must be over 18 years of age. Time since surgery: Participants must have undergone coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery within the past 2 to 6 weeks. Low to moderate cardiovascular risk: According to a cardiologist’s assessment, participants must be classified as having low to moderate cardiovascular risk.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cardiac conditions: Patients with ventricular arrhythmias or myocardial ischemia identified during the initial assessment. Psychiatric and physical disorders: Individuals who, based on their medical history, have mental, physical, or cognitive disorders that impair their ability to participate in exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation. Severe comorbidities: Patients with serious comorbid conditions, such as significant cerebrovascular accidents (strokes), advanced heart failure, or chronic pulmonary diseases. Participation in other rehabilitation programs. Unwillingness to continue participation in the rehabilitation program.

Physiological and psychosocial outcomes following coronary artery bypass surgery. Timepoint: Before the start of the intervention, 1 and 3 months after the start of the intervention. Method of measurement: Tilburg Disability Index (TFI), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21), Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET), Spirometry, Standard Mercury Sphygmomanometer, Echocardiography, 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT).
