Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The level of anxiety is measured and recorded using the MCDAS (Modified Child Dental Anxiety Scale) anxiety questionnaire. Timepoint: The level of pain and anxiety is measured by indicators before and after the anesthetic injection. Method of measurement: The MCDAS anxiety questionnaire has been translated into Persian and has good validity and reliability. It consists of 8 questions that are asked to the patient, and the patient must choose the answers to the questions from a five-option Likert scale (complete calm, little fear, moderate, high and very high). In this way, the maximum score for each individual on this questionnaire is 40 and the minimum is 8.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Pain level. Timepoint: before and after injection. Method of measurement: The VFAS index consists of six faces, increasing in size from left to right. The first face is without anxiety and the last face from the right indicates the highest anxiety.;Pain level. Timepoint: during injection. Method of measurement: The FLACC index is recorded by an observer and consists of five sections: face, legs, activity, crying, and consalibility Each section is scored and measured at the end.;Heart rate level. Timepoint: Before, during and after injection. Method of measurement: Using a pulse oximeter.
