Palatally displaced maxillary lateral incisor. Anomalies of tooth position

Interventions

Intervention group: uses a pre-fabricated ORMCO torquing spring (17-7PH stainless steel alloy, 0.025×0.019 inch, initial torque 15° with 50 g force). The spring is placed on a 0.025×0.019 inch SS base

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient candidate for orthodontic treatment Patients with palataly placed maxillary lateral incisors which have a root torque between 10 and 30 degrees after scanning with a scanner. Not having a systemic disease that is a contraindication for orthodontic treatment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Poor oral hygiene History of medications affecting bone metabolism Hormonal imbalance Moderate or greater root resorption in the lateral incisor Lateral incisors with previous root canal therapy and teeth with conical roots

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Rate of root-position correction (°/month). Timepoint: At the beginning of the study (before the start of the intervention) and 4 months after intervention start. Method of measurement: By measuring the root angle relative to the palatal plane on sagittal CBCT slices.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Amount of root resorption (mm). Timepoint: At the beginning of the study (before the start of the intervention) and 4 months after intervention start. Method of measurement: By measuring the change in root length (resorption) on CBCT images.
