Conditions

Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: In addition to conventional hemodialysis treatments, hemodialysis patients will receive cognitive training (tablet-based games) for 12 weeks, 2-3 sessions per week

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Hemodialysis patients over three months MOCA score less than 24 Literacy Walk without help Be able to understand and comprehend the Persian language Ability to use a touchscreen tablet

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous history of dementia Confirmed depression Amputation of the upper and lower limbs History of neurological diseases (Parkinson's, head injury, stroke, Alzheimer's, etc.) Visual impairment, hearing impairment Balance disorder, dizziness, use of anticonvulsant medications, and depression Unwillingness to participate or continue in the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The amount of objective cognitive performance. Timepoint: The amount of objective cognitive performance that will be done at the beginning of the study before the intervention and once after the study is completed. Method of measurement: The Persian Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) tool.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The quality of life. Timepoint: In the first session before the interventions begin and again in the last session after the interventions end. Method of measurement: The Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire in Persian.;The objective motor performance. Timepoint: In the first session before the interventions begin and again in the last session after the interventions end. Method of measurement: Assessment using a timed stand-up and walk balance test; the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test.;Cognitive abilities. Timepoint: In the first session before the interventions begin and again in the last session after the interventions end. Method of measurement: Measured with the Persian Cognitive Abilities Questionnaire (PCAQ).;Individual functional independence in life. Timepoint: In the first session before the interventions begin and again in the last session after the interventions end. Method of measurement: Individual functional independence in life, which will be measured with the Persian Functional Independence Measure (FIM) questionnaire.
