| Maximum oxygen consumption(VO2max). Timepoint: The main outcomes (VO2max, vVO2max, respiratory exchange ratio, carbohydrate and fat oxidation, energy expenditure and performance record) will be assessed at the following points: 1. Before the start of the intervention (Baseline) 2. After 4 weeks of intervention (end of the first phase) 3. After 4 weeks of phase 2 (end of the study). Method of measurement: VO2max is measured using an incremental rowing test on a Kayak Ergometer. During the test, the participant's respiratory data is recorded and analyzed in real time by the K4B2 device to determine maximum oxygen consumption. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Velocity at maximal oxygen uptake. Timepoint: Measurement of velocity at maximal oxygen uptake both at rest and during activity (before the intervention) and at the end of the fourth week and the end of the eighth week after starting supplement and placebo. Method of measurement: velocity at maximal oxygen uptake will be measured using an incremental test on a rowing boat.;Respiratory exchange ratio. Timepoint: Measurement of respiratory exchange ratio both at rest and during activity (before the intervention) and at the end of the fourth week and the end of the eighth week after starting supplement and placebo. Method of measurement: respiratory exchange ratio will be measured using a COSMED K4B2 respiratory gas analyzer, Italy.;Amount of energy consumed. Timepoint: Measuring the amount of energy consumed both at rest and during activity (before the start of the intervention) and at the end of the fourth week and the end of the eighth week after starting the supplement and placebo. Method of measurement: The calculation will be based on a standard formula from VO2 and VCO2 data recorded by the K4B2 device manufactured by COSMED Italy.;Carbohydrate oxidation rate. Timepoint: Carbohydrate oxidation rate both at rest and during activity (before the intervention) and at the end of the fourth week and the end of the eighth week after starting supplement and placebo. Method of measurement: The calculation will be done with a special formula from the gas data recorded using the K4B2 respiratory gas analyzer manufactured by the Italian company COSMED.;Fat oxidation rate of rowers. Timepoint: Measuring the rate of fat oxidation in rowers both at rest and during activity (before the intervention) and at the end of the fourth week and the end of the eighth week after starting supplement and placebo use. Method of measurement: The calculation will be done with a special formula from the gas data recorded using the K4B2 respiratory gas analyzer manufactured by the Italian compa | — |
