Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing elective Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). Patients aged between 18 and 70 years who are candidates for CABG.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with left ventricular (LV) dysfunction Patients with left atrial (LA) enlargement Patients with diabetes mellitus Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) below 30 Patients with a history of atrial fibrillation (AF) Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) Patients with a history of urinary tract infection (UTI) Patients with liver failure Patients with mitral valve (MV) disease of more than moderate severity

MeasureTime frame
Occurrence of atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) Recording the presence or absence of atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients within 48 to 72 hours postoperatively, based on continuous telemetry monitoring and repeated electrocardiograms (ECG); this outcome is used to evaluate the effect of dapagliflozin in preventing AF as the primary endpoint of the study. Timepoint: It will begin 48 hours before the surgery and continue for 48 to 72 hours postoperatively. Method of measurement: Continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring using hospital telemetry systems and repeated electrocardiograms performed with a standard electrocardiography device to detect and record the occurrence of atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass grafting.
