Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 30–70 years of age, with T2DM [fasting blood glucose (FBG) = 126 mg/dL, measured twice, 2-h plasma glucose = 200 mg/dL, or HbA1C = 6.5% or taking oral hypoglycemic medications], having a history of diabetes between 1 and 10 years, and having a body mass index (BMI) of 25–35 kg/m2.
