Pain and trismus after 3 rd molar surgery.

Interventions

The intervention is the same for all subjects. The study is conducted in a split mouth manner. For surgery on one side of the jaw, one 120 mg fexofenadine tablet is given along with one 400 mg ibuprof

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients over 28 years old with bilateral mandibular impacted wisdom teeth The wisdom teeth must have the same impaction condition The wisdom teeth must be in simple to moderate category for surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: any uncontrolled systemic diseases or medical conditions that may be worsen by taking the trial drugs consumption of any kind of nontrial painkillers and antibiotics before or during the study impacted wisdom teeth that are in difficult category for surgery allergy to the trial medications

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Acute pain , Trismus. Timepoint: Acute pain will be measured at 3-6-12-24 and 48 hours after surgery and trismus will be measured at one and two weeks after surgery. Method of measurement: Pain will be measured according to the visual analog scale and trismus will be measured based on the distance between the incisal edge of the upper and lower incisors in millimeters.
