Conditions

Comparison of bleeding rates between two anesthesia methods: isoflurane and propofol-remifentanil in patients who are candidates for lumbar disc surgery. Disease of spinal cord, unspecified

Interventions

Intervention 1: Isoflurane group: After induction of anesthesia (in both groups, 1 µg/kg fentanyl, 1 mg/kg lidocaine, and 2 mg midazolam are injected and anesthesia induction is performed with 1.5-2.5

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Bleeding volume. Timepoint: intraoperative. Method of measurement: The volume of bleeding will be the total volume of fluid in the suction bottle minus the amount of flushing solution used during surgery, which will be added to the volume of blood absorbed into the gauze. Postoperative wet gauzes will be counted and each will be considered to contain approximately 30 ml of blood. It is assumed that each long gauze contains approximately 50 ml of blood.;Postoperative hemoglobin level. Timepoint: For patients after transfer to the ward, a blood test is performed again within the first 1-4 hours. Method of measurement: CBC test of the patient after transfer to the ward.;Preoperative hemoglobin level. Timepoint: Preoperative blood tests, which do not have a specific time and are usually performed for all patients close to the time they go to the operating room. Method of measurement: preoperative CBC lab test.
