Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children with age from 5 months to 2 years with confirmed rotavirus infection by rotavirus stool examination Serum vitamin D levels indicating deficiency (below 20 ng/mL)(27).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with other major infections, severe dehydration or underlying health conditions. Children with current vitamin D supplementation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Severity of gastroenteritis. Timepoint: 7 days. Method of measurement: Vasikari scoring system.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
C reactive protein and complete blood count. Timepoint: After 3 days and 7 days. Method of measurement: Lab kit.
