Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: will receive 8 mg dexamethasone dose before the fentanyl injection. Intervention 2: Control group: will receive the same amount of normal saline.

Exclusion criteria: Patients who expire during surgery Patients who were hospitalized less than 24 hours after surgery

Measure	Time frame
Cough. Timepoint: Within 24 hours after the operation. Method of measurement: After surgery, patients will be monitored for 24 hours and the occurrence or absence of postoperative cough, type of cough, number of breaths per minute, and arterial blood oxygen saturation level will be assessed and recorded in the data collection form.	—
