Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Student satisfaction with the evaluation method in the researcher-made checklist, students' clinical skills. Timepoint: In one academic semester; each group is studied for 3 weeks. Method of measurement: In the intervention group, skills evaluation will be carried out in three stages using a researcher-made checklist using the DOPS method. In the first stage, the skills under study will be observed for 15 minutes and feedback will be given for 5 minutes. In the second stage, the same skills will be observed again after a week and the strengths and weaknesses will be informed to the student. Finally, in the third stage (one week after the second stage), the same skills will be repeated and evaluated again and final scores will be given. In the control group, evaluation will be carried out using the routine faculty method. In the control group, evaluation will be carried out using the traditional method using a logbook and without feedback. On the first day of the internship, the method and purpose of the logbook method were explained to all students in the control group. Then, the logbook will be provided to the students, and students will fill out the logbooks and hand them over to the instructor after each session of the internship (just as the intervention group students are evaluated using the DOPS method during the 3 weeks, the control group students will also be evaluated using the school's routine method during these 3 weeks, which includes filling out the logbook in each internship session). The final evaluation of the clinical skills performance of both the intervention and control groups will be conducted after collecting demographic information on the last day of the internship, based on a researcher-made checklist. In the researcher-made checklist, the steps for performing each procedure correctly are listed on a five-point Likert scale including higher than expected (score 5), within expected (score 4), borderline (score 3), lower than expected (score 2)
