Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: New nurses with less than two years of work experience Novice night shift nurses with a minimum of 5 night shifts per month New nurses in consecutive shifts with the same shift (morning, afternoon, and night shifts) Male of both sexes Not pregnant or breastfeeding Voluntary participation in the study Obtaining consent from the participant's spouse in married participants Not allergic to lavender essential oil No history of allergies to essential oils Not suffering from allergic rhinitis Not taking neuroleptics Not having a disorder in the sense of smell Not having nasal congestion Not taking sleeping pills or painkillers during the study Lack of breastfeeding in women

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unwillingness to continue participating in the study Spouse's lack of consent to the intervention Use of other herbal essential oils during the study Use of sedatives and sleeping pills Allergy to lavender essential oil that is discovered during work
