Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult male and female patients with periodontitis referred to the Periodontics Department of Kurdistan Dental School. Having at least 20 natural teeth

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion of people with severe abnormal tongue defects such as fissured tongue and geographic tongue or any other abnormalities that may interfere with tongue sampling methods. The presence of systemic diseases affecting periodontal situation, such as diabetes mellitus. Patients' lack of cooperation to participate in the study. Individuals who smoke cigarettes or use other substances.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The tongue coating score of individuals with periodontitis in the Winkel’s Index questionnaire. Timepoint: The Winkel’s index will be assessed at the beginning of the study, prior to the intervention, and re-evaluated 7 days post-intervention. Measurement time points will be at day 0 and day 7. Method of measurement: Examination and based on the Winkels index.
