Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age above 30 years A confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes based on the patient's medical record The ability of the patient or one of their family members to read and write at a minimum level Informed consent Willingness to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Irregular participation of the patients or one of their family members in the educational sessions.

A significant increase in the mean total score of self-care behavior in the intervention group after the intervention, p<0.001. Timepoint: Before the intervention and three months after the intervention. Method of measurement: Standardized self-care questionnaire adapted from the revised version of the self-care behavior scale by Toobert and Glasgow.;A significant increase in the mean total score of self-efficacy in the intervention group after the intervention, p<0.001. Timepoint: Before the intervention and three months after the intervention. Method of measurement: Sherer general self-efficacy questionnaire.
