Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preschool children, aged 4-7 years, with infections prescribed more than two doses of antibiotics in syrup form, should be alert and capable of listening to stories and watching. The parent administering the medication should have reading literacy and the ability to speak.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Specific medical conditions such as asthma antibiotic allergies language or cognitive limitations: non-Persian native language suffering from cognitive disorders and ADHD

MeasureTime frame
Completion of treatment: This indicates whether children have completed the full course of prescribed antibiotics. Timepoint: At the beginning of the study (the day the intervention starts), during the study (considering the medication schedule of 2-3 times a day after each dose). Method of measurement: Self-reporting by the parent.;Completion of treatment:It indicates whether children have completed the full course of prescribed antibiotics. Timepoint: Three days after the completion of the intervention (simultaneously with finishing the prescribed medication dose). Method of measurement: Self-reporting by the parent.

The quality and attractiveness of the book (expert, child). Timepoint: 7 days before the start of the study. Method of measurement: Questionnaire.;Reasons for non-compliance or termination. Timepoint: before the start of the intervention and three days after the completion of the intervention (simultaneously with finishing the prescribed medication dose). Method of measurement: Questionnaire.
