Intervention 1: Intervention group: Smelling lavender-scented napkins. Intervention 2: Control group: Smelling napkins soaked with water.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients referred for colposcopy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute pain at the time of completing the questionnaire Having psychiatric disorders including anxiety Mental retardation Blindness and deafness History of eczema and allergies to plants History of migraine and chronic headaches Impaired sense of smell Use of sedatives and narcotics A history of severe mental stress around the time of colposcopy (such as the death of a loved one)

Anxiety caused by colposcopy. Timepoint: Before and after the intervention. Method of measurement: Depression Anxiety Stress Scales.
