Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to the intensive care unit Age 20 to 80 No underlying respiratory diseases Willingness to participate in the study Not allergic to thyme or walnuts GCS less than 8

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: GCS grate than 8 Allergy to thyme or nutmeg Unwillingness to participate in the study Age less than 20 years and more than 80 years

MeasureTime frame
Arterial blood gases. Timepoint: Based on a study on the minimum effectiveness of thyme, the intervention group took 2 grams of herbal thyme syrup twice a day for 5 days. Method of measurement: The pulmonary secretions volume (in cc) and arterial blood gas parameters (O2 saturation, PH, HCO3, CO2.BE) were measured and recorded for both groups during this period.
