Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Malondialdehyde (MDA). Timepoint: Baseline (Week 0) and Post-intervention (Week 8). Method of measurement: Serum MDA levels are measured using the TBARS assay (Cayman Chemical, USA) and a spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV-1800, Japan) at 532 nm, reported as nmol/mL.;Superoxide dismutase (SOD). Timepoint: Baseline (Week 0) and Post-intervention (Week 8) (Measured in fasted state, morning). Method of measurement: Serum SOD activity is measured using a colorimetric assay (Cayman Chemical, USA) and a spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV-1800, Japan) at 440 nm, reported as U/mL.;Glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Timepoint: Baseline (Week 0) and Post-intervention (Week 8) (Measured in fasted state, morning). Method of measurement: Serum GPx activity is measured using a kinetic assay (Sigma-Aldrich, USA) and a spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV-1800, Japan) at 340 nm, reported as nmol/min/mL.
