Conditions

Pain after surgery. Other acute postprocedural pain

Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: methadone intramuscularly at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg every 8 hours. Intervention 2: Control group: morphine intravenously at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg every 6 hours.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who underwent Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery Age between 18 and 65 years old Obtained Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Allergy or hypersensitivity to methadone or morphine patient's hesitancy or refusal for participation in the study ASA score of >2 Psychologic disorders Use of drugs that affect methadone metabolism QT length >440ms in ECG Serum levels of K35

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of the pain. Timepoint: 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours after surgery. Method of measurement: Visual Analogue Scale.;Pain severity. Timepoint: 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours after surgery. Method of measurement: Visual Analogue Scale.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Timepoint: 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours after surgery. Method of measurement: Vital sing monitoring equipments.
