Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: The family members in the intervention group will receive a comprehensive package of interventions facilitated by physicians. Interventions briefly include: 1) scre
limiting fat intake as low as they can
limiting the average daily salt intake to less than a quarter of a tablespoon
reducing daily sugar consumption to less than two tablespoons
maintaining a healthy weight through calorie reduction, enhancing fiber and protein intake by consumption of whole grain products and sprouted legumes, lowering glycemic load by substituting refined w
reducing stress and don’t use tobacco or alcohol.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Family members aged 18 and older of patients diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, including fathers, mothers, siblings, spouses, and children

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with a documented history of cardiovascular disease or stroke

MeasureTime frame
The study will assess the following health metrics: 1- Anthropometric indicators: Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference. 2- Blood lipid indicators: triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol. 3- Glycemic index. 4- Percentage of individuals with high blood pressure. 5- Percentage of individuals with diabetes. Timepoint: The outcomes will be measured before the study begins and again after six months. Method of measurement: Anthropometric indices will be assessed through clinical examinations, blood pressure will be measured using a sphygmomanometer, and lipid indices will be evaluated through blood sample analysis.

Predicting the 10-year risk of cardiovascular diseases. Timepoint: The outcomes will be measured before the study begins and again after six months. Method of measurement: The risk will be assessed using the updated Framingham Risk Assessment instrument tailored for the Iranian population.
