Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 18 to 65 year-old patients candidate for Esophagogastroduodenoscopy ASA class I or II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age65y/o ASA class III or more Sensitivity to lidocaine Emergent patients Patient dissatisfaction

1- Investigating the amount of prescribed propofol in maintenance doses in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 2- Investigating the amount of blood pressure changes in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 3- Investigating the amount of heart rate changes in patients receiving Intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 4- Investigating the amount of changes in oxygen saturation in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 5- Investigating the occurrence of gag reflex in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 6- Examining the rate of organ movement in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 7- Examining the incidence of nausea in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 8- Examining the incidence of vomiting in patients receiving lidocaine Intravenous compared to topical lidocaine 9- Investigating the incidence of sore throat in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 10- Investigating the time of discharge from recovery in patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared to topical lidocaine 11- Investigating the level of endoscopist satisfaction with esophagogastroduodenoscopy Patients receiving intravenous lidocaine compared with topical lidocaine. Timepoint: Changes in blood pressure, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation are constantly monitored and recorded during the process. The incidence of gag reflex and the amount of organ movement during esophagogastroduodenoscopy are measured and recorded. The movement of the limbs means lifting the head, raising the hands towards the entrance of the endoscope probe, or trying to sit or stand up. The duration of recovery, which is the time interval between the completion of endoscopy and the Aldrete score reaching a score of more than 8, is checked in each patient. The presence of nausea and
