Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All the patients who visited a thyroid clinic and a referral establishment in southwest Iran (Shiraz) age above 18 are due to undergone total thyroidectomy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: patients who routinely use anti-inflammatory drugs (such as steroids), statins, or calcitriol patients who undergone partial thyroidectomy patients who undergone radical or lateral nuchal lymph-node dissection patients who refuse to participate in the study death of the patient patients who underwent previous nuchal surgeries patients who experience direct injury to the laryngeal nerves either during the surgery or during the thyroid biopsy procedure patients with underlying condition that directly affected their vocal functions (such as neurological conditions)
