Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: People with pain in the first metatarsal joint in people with hallux rigidus in the age range between 18 and 60 years Pain in the first metatarsal joint in people with hallux rigidus with Visual Analouge Scale > 4 Consent to participate in the study grades one to four hallux rigidus

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Injury caused by Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy Patient's lack of consent to continue the study process Inability to read and write The patient has diabetes History of foot trauma Inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis Hallux valgus angle < 20 degrees The patient has used therapeutic intervention such as arch support during the last month The presence of active radicular and non-radicular back pain Psychiatric diseases such as psychosis pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
Pain reduction in people with first metatarsal joint pain in people with hallux rigidus with Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy effect. Timepoint: In this clinical trial, people suffering from hallux rigidus with Metatarsophalangial1 joint pain are randomly divided into two treatment groups with Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy and Sham Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy. Both groups will be given an interdigital pad (for one month) and the patients of both groups will undergo Metatarsophalangial1 joint mobilization. Shockwave sessions will be weekly (one session) for up to three weeks and the patient will be followed up after six months. Method of measurement: Pain criteria and self-administered foot evaluation questionnaire.
