Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: Group A includes patients undergoing laparoscopic surgical techniques. Intervention 2: Intervention group: Group B will receive open abdominal surgery.

20 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 20-60 years Ventricular-peritoneal shunt surgery performed in the last 5 years No history of previous abdominal surgery was reported. The patient is free of uncontrolled chronic diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular disorders.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All shunts originating from a site other than the lateral ventricle or with a distal end in a site other than the peritoneal cavity will also be removed. Shunt correction surgery in the past 5 years

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Bleeding. Timepoint: During surgery. Method of measurement: Blood gases and bottle suction.;Pain. Timepoint: 7th day after surgery. Method of measurement: Visual analog scale.;Surgery time. Timepoint: During surgery. Method of measurement: Starp Watch.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Shunt failure. Timepoint: 12 months after surgery. Method of measurement: Imaging, physical examination, basic testing.
