Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: =1 hypersensitive teeth per quadrant age >18

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: pregnancy lactation systemic conditions influencing hypersensitivity (e.g., chronic gastroesophageal reflux) desensitizing therapy within the past 6 months long-term analgesic/anti-inflammatory use recent scaling or bleaching (=6 months) use of desensitizing toothpastes/mouth rinses orthodontic appliances or removable partial dentures dental/structural pathology explaining pain (e.g., caries, extensive restorations, cracks, pulpal disease) Age >18

MeasureTime frame
Pain intensity induced by cold stimulus in teeth with dentin hypersensitivity. Timepoint: At baseline before intervention; ten minutes after initial treatment; two days after treatment ten minutes after gel application; four days after treatment ten minutes after gel application; two weeks after intervention; four weeks after intervention. Method of measurement: Pain intensity is measured using a visual analogue scale from zero to ten following application of cold spray on a cotton pellet placed on the buccal cervical surface of the tooth for one second.;Pain intensity induced by heat stimulus in teeth with dentin hypersensitivity. Timepoint: At baseline before intervention; ten minutes after initial treatment; two days after treatment ten minutes after gel application; four days after treatment ten minutes after gel application; two weeks after intervention; four weeks after intervention. Method of measurement: Pain intensity is measured using a visual analogue scale from zero to ten following application of heated gutta percha on the buccal surface of the tooth for a maximum of three seconds or until pain is reported.
