Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with primary pterygium and pterygium size greater than three millimeters extending onto the cornea

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with a history of recurrent pterygium and ,pseudopterygium pregnant patients patients with systemic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease patients with ocular surface diseases such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, and severe dry eye patients with a history of eye surgery within the past 6 months patients with a history of herpetic keratitis

MeasureTime frame
In both groups, the patient's corrected vision, clinical inflammation at the pterygium surgery site, duration of corneal epithelial defect repair, possible complications of pterygium surgery on days 1, 3, 7, and 30 after surgery, and lesion recurrence were assessed by slit lamp during a 6-month follow-up. Timepoint: Possible complications of pterygium surgery on days 1, 3, 7, and 30 after surgery and recurrence of the lesion 6 months after surgery. Method of measurement: Clinical inflammation at the pterygium surgical site, duration of corneal epithelial defect repair, postoperative course, and lesion recurrence.
