Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Tryptophan. Timepoint: Before the intervention and immediately after the subjects declare their inability to continue the exercise test, 2 cc of blood will be taken from their brachial vein to assess serum levels of tryptophan. Method of measurement: To assess serum tryptophan levels, commercial kits from the German company Zellbio will be used using the ELISA method.;Kynurenine. Timepoint: Before the intervention and immediately after the subjects declare their inability to continue the exercise test, 2 cc of blood will be taken from their brachial vein to assess serum kynurenine levels. Method of measurement: To assess serum kynurenine levels, commercial kits from the German company Zellbio will be used using the ELISA method.;Branched-chain amino acids. Timepoint: Before the intervention and immediately after the subjects declare their inability to continue the exercise test, 2 cc of blood will be taken from their brachial vein to assess serum branched chain amino acids levels. Method of measurement: To assess serum branched-chain amino acids levels, commercial kits from the German company Zellbio will be used using the ELISA method.;Free fatty acids. Timepoint: Before the intervention and immediately after the subjects declare their inability to continue the exercise test, 2 cc of blood will be taken from their brachial vein to assess serum free fatty acids levels. Method of measurement: Free fatty acids will also be measured by colorimetric method with a highly sensitive kit with a sensitivity of 5 µmol/L, Zellbio brand, made in Germany.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Time to exhaustion. Timepoint: The time point of assessment is immediately after the athlete reaches exhaustion. Method of measurement: By Bruce Treadmill Test.;Maximum oxygen consumption. Timepoint: The time point of assessment is immediately after the athlete reaches exhaustion. Method of measurement: By Bruce Treadmill Test.
