Intervention 1: Intervention group: Conventional treatment and omega-3. Intervention 2: Control group: Conventional treatment and placebo.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetic nephropathy Fasting blood sugar more than 126 mg/ dl and/ or taking glucose-lowering drugs or insulin Proteinuria is more than 300 mg per day Glomerular filtration rate more than 60 ml per minute Minimum 21 years of age

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncontrolled hypertension Hyperlipidemia Urinary tract infection Heart failure Changing the dose of medication Taking warfarin Allergies or omega-3 intolerance
