Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: Using prophylactic 360° barrier laser during cataract surgery. Intervention 2: Control group: no intervention.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who had complicated cataract surgery due to vitreous loss and anterior vitrectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Traumatic cataract Nucleus drop Posterior capsule rupture without vitreous loss Retinal break Other retinal pathologies that require pars plana vitrectomy Lattice degeneration Other ocular surgical procedures such as keratoplasty, glaucoma operations, or posterior segment surgery.

Design outcomes

Primary

Measure	Time frame
Retinal detachment. Timepoint: 1, 3, 7 days, 4 weeks, and every month until 12 months after surgery. Method of measurement: fundus exam.	—
