Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: chronic coughing positive Helicobacter pylori antigen in stool sample gastric reflux

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: pregnant or breastfeeding patients patients with known gastric or duodenal ulcer cases with any malignancy patients who were taking treatments like Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs), anticoagulants, antibiotics, any combination of bismuth, proton pump inhibitors, and antiacids during the previous month patients who were unavailable for follow-up

MeasureTime frame
H. pylori antigen. Timepoint: two weeks. Method of measurement: The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method has been used to investigate the presence of antibodies to Helicobacter pylori bacteria. (ELISA) is an immunological method commonly used to measure antibodies, antigens, proteins, and glycoproteins in biological samples. ELISA measurements are generally performed on 96 well plates, allowing multiple samples to be measured in a single experiment. Each ELISA measures a specific antigen, and kits are widely available for a variety of antigens.;Cough visual analog scale. Timepoint: two weeks. Method of measurement: Questionnaire for measuring the amount of cough based on the visual scale of cough or visual analogue scale (VAS). Visual scale for measuring the severity of cough is a 10 cm ruler. The person marks the continuum over the last 48 hours due to the amount of cough. The scale for measuring cough is divided from zero to ten as follows: 0-1: No cough 2-3: Low cough 4-5: High cough 6-7: Very bad cough 8-9: Maximum cough, and 10: Unbearable cough.;Gustric reflux. Timepoint: two weeks. Method of measurement: The main instrument of this study is a standard questionnaire entitled "Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire (GerdQ)". GerdQ is a self-administered 6-item questionnaire that was recently developed as a tool to improve and standardize symptom-based diagnosis and evaluation of treatment response in patients with GERD. Norwegian researchers assessed the diagnostic validity of GerdQ, and they concluded that GerdQ is a useful, complementary tool for diagnosing GERD in primary care.
