Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: N-acetyl cystein 400 mg twice a day for 16weeks from hexal company. Intervention 2: Control group: Placebo containing corn starch twice a day for 16 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Ulcerative colitis patients treated with high dose glucocorticoids (1 mg/kg to 5 mg) Aged between 18-75 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy Having other systemic disease such as heart failure, kidney failure and lung failure Using Anti TNF drugs

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Relapse based on Mayo score and clinical symptoms. Timepoint: every 2 weeks for 16 weeks. Method of measurement: mayo score questionnaire and using clinical symproms.
