Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Age between 18 and 40 years. (2) Presence of at least three of the following signs and symptoms: pain around/behind the patella with going down or up stairs, running, squatting, sitting with knees bent for a long time and a positive test (such as Clark's test); (3) Duration of pain >4 weeks; (4) Absence of severe knee osteoarthritis (clinical judgment using the American College of Rheumatology criteria and radiography in suspected cases). (5) BMI <30 kg/m2; (6) No history of other knee, hip, or spine disorders including Osgood-Schlatter disease, patellar tendinopathy, knee ligament injury/instability. (7) No history of rheumatologic disease. (8) No previous history of knee injury or surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) worsening pain requiring additional treatments (2) acute trauma or surgery of the lower extremities and trunk.
