Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion factors for babies are: 1. To be a full term baby (gestational age 38-42 weeks) 2. To have birth weight equal to or greater than 2500 grams 3. To have indirect bilirubin more than 14 mg/dl and less than 18 mg/dl. 4. To be older than 3 days. 5. To have oral nutrition 6. Babies who had urination and feces in the first 24 hours after birth 7. The babies without dangerous symptoms like: Favism, fever, the intolerance between mother and baby’s blood, Polycythemia, Anemia and family history of sever newborn jaundice 8. To have the satisfaction of babies’ parents to participate in the study 9. The physician’s diagnosis for phototherapy 10. The absence of anomalies and infant infections 11. The impossibility of immediate refer to the hospital for example due to long distance between the home to the hospital. Inclusion factors for mothers are:1. They should be the resident of Isfahan and have the intention to attend the research. 2. They should have a full term and healthy baby 3. They should not have the history of mental disorders. 4. They should be literate and fluent in Persian. 5. During this research, they should not attend another study. 6. They should not have addiction to drug or alcohol. 7. They should be vigilant and aware about the research. 8. They should not suffer from mental disorders (schizophrenia, Psychosis, depression and etc.) 9. They should access to mobile phone and phone. 10. They should be familiar with Persian.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion factors for babies are: 1. The impossibility of the proper conditions for home phototherapy 2. The parent’s resignation at each stage of the study from attending in this research 3. If the total bilirubin of the babies does not reduce or increase within 12-24 hours after starting phototherapy exponentially. Exclusion factors for mothers are:1. Mother’s resignation from the study due to the fear of doing this method at home. 2. To be reluctant to attend this research 3. They are not the main baby keeper.
