Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Term parturient candidates for elective cesarean section with spinal anesthesia Age range 18 to 45 years old with body mass index above 30 kg / m2 with physical status II ASA class Informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: any contraindication of regional anesthesia Gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, eclampsia or HELLP syndrome Hypersensitivity to local anesthetics Vertebral column deformity like scoliosis and history of lumbar region surgery Maternal co-existing disease such as a history of heart disease, pulmonary, liver and kidney disease Emergency cesarean section like fetal bradycardia, placenta previa or other conditions of peripartum hemorrhage Embryonic factors including fetal head tightness, umbilical cord prolapse, foot presentation

MeasureTime frame
The success rate of spinal anesthesia in pendant position in obese parturients undergoing cesarean delivery. Timepoint: Once during spinal anesthesia. Method of measurement: The parameters of success in the first needle entry , the number of attempts for successful spinal puncture, the difficulty in touching the landmarks of the injection site, the number of bone-needle contacts and the time of success in performing spinal anesthesia (in minutes) will be recorded in the checklist for each patient.
