Control group (placebo): Capsules holding 2 grams of starch powder in two meals (1 g per serving) before lunch and dinner for 14 successive days.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Body mass index between 25 and 30; age range of 23 to 28 years; no smoking; lack of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and respiratory diseases; lack of renal and digestive diseases; lack of blood diseases and joint problems; not having regular exercise in the last 2 months; and non-consumption of medications and supplement antioxidants since two weeks from the study onset; informed consent for participation. Exclusion criteria: Cancellation of participation in the training protocol; non-use of supplements for more than 2 times during the two weeks of supplementation; doing exercise during the two weeks of supplementation; catching a cold or other inflammatory disease within two weeks of the study; and use of medications or anti-oxidant supplement.
