Interventions

Intervention 1: Group A: they will be treated by the fiberglass casting for 6 weeks. the P.T course will be 15 sessions with the pulsating ultrasound with the frequency= 1 Mhz and the power of 0.5 w/c
Treatment - Devices
Group A: they will be treated by the fiberglass casting for 6 weeks. the P.T course will be 15 sessions with the pulsating ultrasound with the frequency= 1 Mhz and the power of 0.5 w/cm2.
Group B: they will be treated by the removable brace and the same P.T protocol will be commence from the tenth day

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: all cases with acute proximal fifth metatarsal fractures (Jone's fracture). Exclusion criteria: tuberosity fracture, fracture distal to the proximal site of meta-diaphysis of the fifth metatarsus, simultaneous multiple fracture, coexisting ankle anomalies, previous history of ankle surgeries, concurrent neuro-vascular damage, underlying diseases including diabetes, smoking.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Mean clinical and radilogical union time. Timepoint: 6th and 12th and 18th weeks follow up. Method of measurement: Surgeon preference and with the help of X-ray images.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Functional ankle status. Timepoint: 6th and 12th and 18th weeks follow up. Method of measurement: AOFAS score.;Health status. Timepoint: Sixth and 12th and 18th weeks follow up. Method of measurement: SF-36 short form.
